Title: Assistant State’s Attorney

Summary:

The Effingham County State’s Attorney’s office is seeking an attorney to prosecute traffic, criminal, and juvenile cases, with duties that will include making charging decisions, working with law enforcement, handling motion hearings, conducting bench and jury trials, presenting plea agreements, and other duties as may be assigned. Both entry level or lateral prosecutor applicants are encouraged to apply. Exceptional communication, research, and writing skills are essential.

Description:

Salary is commensurate with experience and abilities. Benefits included. Must have a law degree and be licensed to practice in Illinois. We will consider 3Ls or law school graduates depending upon circumstances and if they possess a valid license under Supreme Court Rule 711 and will be sitting for the bar exam in February 2024.
